Lahti Ski Museum showcases and structures

We built showcases to first celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the Lahti Ski Club and then be used for later exhibitions in the future.

Lahti Ski Museum

Lahti, Finland

Exhibition area:

200 m²

Scope of work:

Production - technical drawings, furniture, showcases.

As the name suggests Lahti Ski Museum focuses on skiing and other winter sports and their importance for Finland and Lahti. The museum is located inside a sports complex next to the ski-jumping hill in Lahti.

Goals and Challenges

Our task in Lahti Ski Museum was to produce sturdy showcases for the Ski Museum that can later be used for multiple exhibitions. As the layouts of the exhibitions never stay the same, we decided to create interchangeable and easily moveable furniture and came up with initial technical drawings that proved the furniture to be sturdy while still perfectly modular.

The highlight for this project was the challenging task of the production of furniture and structures that fit well into the Lahti Ski Museum, but which could also be used for multiple exhibitions in the future. That meant using appealing natural materials that compliment the architecture and theme of the museum while making sure that all furniture and showcases are sturdy and interchangeable for all future use cases.
